Basement Prep

A solid base for a concrete slab is essential. Without it you can end up with extensive cracking or even sinking of the slab. Weeping tile is installed underneath the floor to collect any underground water that might find it's way to the area. A layer of gravel is then placed and compacted, providing a base for your concrete floor.

Depending on the type of house and basement living space, the following additions may be needed for the under-slab.

  • Re-bar. To provide re-enforcement to the concrete or to provide a grid to tie under-slab heat lines to.
  • Poly. To retard the flow of moisture to the slab.
  • Rigid Insulation. To help keep the cold out of your floor and keep the heat in your basement.
